Less than half an hour from downtown Orlando, Lake Mary lies around 18 miles north of that city and is bordered by the cities of Sanford, Longwood and Winter Springs. Lake Mary is part of the rapidly growing Orlando-Kissimmee Metropolitan Area, but remains a predominantly residential community.
The city has been experiencing a great deal of growth in recent years, with population figures doubling in the span of a decade. Lake Mary, FL real estate has proven to be very attractive indeed to professionals and young families who feel that the city’s high energy and small-town flavor are just right.
Nowadays, Lake Mary is home to a little less than 15,000 people and continues to attract more. The community is careful not to overdevelop, however, as folks here value the beauty of their natural environment and don’t wish to lessen the quality of life in Lake Mary.
