Lake Mary FL
Parks and Golf Courses
The lakes may have shaped the contours of Lake Mary’s topography, but a major landmark in the city isn’t natural, but man-made. Winding right through the center of Lake Mary, FL is a golf course.
The Timacuan Golf Club’s 18-hole regulation length golf course sprawls for almost 7,000 yards, incorporating some of the area’s lakes in its plan. Designed by renowned golf course architect Ron Garl (and recently updated by Bobby Weed), the Timacuan has consistently been ranked among the Top 20 courses in the state and provides players with a challenging game as well as distractingly beautiful views. The Timacuan Golf Club also has a Pro Shop, practice facilities (a driving range and practice greens) and a bar and grill.
If you’re not one for putting and swinging, then perhaps you’d prefer to take a simple walk in one of Lake Mary’s many parks or play a different sport in the expansive Lake Mary Sports Complex. Liberty Park on the shores of East Crystal Lake is perfect for a quiet afternoon stroll, but if you want to actually do a bit of hiking, then Trailhead Park is the place for you. Here you can go along the Rinehart Road/Crossings Trail which extends for 3.6 miles and at the moment serves to connect the shopping district of Lake Mary Boulevard to some of the city’s neighborhoods.
